aginbyte 0 Posted August 2, 2009 ... reminds me of the great Quentin Crisp. Great to see you still in good form, John. Hope you are well, coming to Boston anytime soon? Link to comment
johncrosley 0 Posted August 2, 2009 I am indebted to you for bringing the name 'Quentin Crisp' to my attention -- it has been fascinating reading about his life, and no doubt my acquaintance here (and I did spend some time with him and his outrageous friends who welcomed me), would have known of Crisp very well. And I already was influenced by Crisp's existence -- Sting's 'Englishman in New York' was a song dedicated to Crisps's life and travails as a gay alien in New York, naturalized 'so he could commit a crime and not get deported.' ;~)) I run across a large variety of people from time to time, as I photograph, and my life is made the greater for it. My health now is much better after about 60 days of total bedrest and incredible suffering as I tried to pass a kidney stone (it didn't pass and there were two operations). I am recovering well. I'd love to write you, don't have your direct e-mail easily available, and would welcome a blank e-mail from you so I can reply more openly -- I say much about my life, etc., on this forum, but there are limits. Great to hear from you. Always. One thing Dennis: I often can count on you to validate a 'minor' photo or portrait that others see little or no worth or have little or no interest in, such as this. I think such photos have worth or I wouldn't post them, and it helps to have the occasional validation you give me, for which I am most thankful. I'd love to write you more -- my e-mail is on my bio page -- I don't write it here for obvious reasons. John (Crosley) Link to comment
