Beautiful shot. Fantastic clarity.

Yes, she's working very hard! The level of endurance these dancers must have is nothing short of impressive!

Thank you, Pnina... As for your photograph, something in the composition is distracting. I just can't quite put my finger on it...

...but yes, certainly hard work, indeed... ~Sky

Fantastic expression, sharpness, texture, detaill. Everything is in there. Great DOF as well. A winner, IMO. Congrats and regards, my dear.

A terrific image especially considering you had to work with the available lighting. You really caught the perfect angle so the light works with you. I love the expression of concentration on her face too.

Pnina, you strip away all pretense, showing a beautiful female dancer form, focus, strength, determination. So powerful it's feminist.

Pnina, there is some truth in the saying that our life is not a bed of roses. Probably she will receive standing ovation, but she has to earn it by the sweat of her brow. Very good composition, choice of subject & tone. Though you have deglamourised her, she has poise and charm.

There is something to be said for those of our species (not me) who have command over their bodies and are able to use them as living art. The sweat insists that we do not see her as a moving statue, but as a real live woman in the process of creation.

A very convincing image. Hard work indeed for the dancers.

Excellent work of the photographer too: I like a lot the rich tones of your BW and also the extremely strong composition relying on triangles.

(Sorry for the somewhat engineering approach... Professional deformation.)

Best Regards, Tibi

A strong statement on the importance of sweat in the life of a dedicated artist.

Photographically, her hands make an important contribution by framing her head.

The tiny reflections on her body make this a really rich and eye-catching composition.

Bobbi, Alberto and Tiffany, thanks for your feedback

Drew, thanks I appreciate your stopping by. I hope Laurent Paul will arrange a meeting ;-))

Amal, I think that many of our actions in life are needing a lot of sweat, literal and emotional as well. Thanks for your comments.

Jeff, "A real live woman in the process of creation" , is well defined Amily as a dancer and artist

Tibi, it Is well defined composition, not a "Professional deformation".... ;-))

Guiliano, thanks for stopping and commenting

Bulent, thanks for a nice comment on your impressions, .

Thanks again to all of you !

I think this image works at all levels.. a strong statement of intent from both the dancer and you the photographer, but Pnina you know ornery me I just can't help feeling that there is something more that could be done to squeeze a touch more determination and quiet power from this image. I had a play around but still could not/did not find that little 'tweak' to my satisfaction. One thing that I did decide to do was to lift a bit of shadow -detail about her hair ...but that is not all to be seen done. Don't you hate PS sometimes? best wishes ~ mike

Thanks for your point of view, it is appreciated, also your trying to better the photo. The light was a strong back light and for my feelings and taste it has enough details and I don't have complaint to PS in this regard....;-)) But I respect your point of view !
