You've made this Heron look very mysterious in a magical world of beautiful lighting. Herons are always lonely birds who sit patiently and wait...I think this scene brings this all out...Well done and Regards

Wonderful light and mood Liz. Well chosen exposure to convey this. One of those photos that bestows a serene, calming effect - very nice.

 

The glints of light on the tree trunk and fallen branch add to the composition - allowing the eye to move from the Heron around the frame, and back.

 

I agree with Jayanti it's much better viewed large.

A wonderful mood to the warm light you got here. The only thing I would do is to straighten the shadow lines and this is VERY minor aspect.
