A square crop of this subject seemed to fit better.

Nice looking square, Len. I was wondering about the colour until I saw the V word. It work swell here. I would have been very tempted to remove those bits in the lower left.

Thanks for your thoughts on this one. The truth is that I don't think I even noticed the pine needles when I took this. Either that or I simply discounted them. Even if I was a purist & would not disturb the scene I could at least have taken two, one as is and one without them. For me the attraction was the bright yellow fungus & that came through in spades with Velvia. I even desaturated the yellows a tad in PS to tone them down a bit. Best, LM.

It's all about colours and colour shades. And how life and death can create an incredible variety and richness of forms and colours, if one can see and emphasize the right details. Great job, Len!

Thanks for stopping by. The bright yellow of the fungus was the initial attraction here. Whether I was successful or not in capturing it is for others to decide. Successful or not, I'm happy with it and will be looking for similar conditions to photograph on my next visit to this location. Best, LM.

Just saying that this has beautiful colors will be an injustice to the photographer. it is actually the composition that brought out the beauty. very well done. compliments -koushik

Thanks for your visit. Yes, nature provided the subject, I simply drew a fame around the part I was interested in. Best, LM.

Your comments\critiques (especially on the matter of the inclusion of

the pine needles: would you have removed them pre exposure or cloned

them out in PS or would you have left them in, as found?) will be

gratefully received. Best, LM.

Thanks for taking the time. Purists wouldn't touch a thing, others would. The truth is I don't think I even noticed the pine needles, rather, I was simply taken in by the brilliant yellow of the fungus & attempted a composition around it. Best, LM.
