Great portrait Bob! Fine composition with enough space round the main figure. Perhaps darkening the zone with the boy (because it makes me question wath he is doing, and so distracts my attention away from the girl) would even enhance and strenghten the whole oimpression and for sure the story!

Great capture and good control of the depth of field. I Like the look and the attitude of the girl, very expressive. Same comment as others thought, the boy in the background breaks the mood. Not a big deal...

even thought i agree to some of the comments above, i feel that the original image is much better and truthful than the revisions.

making the background bw makes it look too digitally manipulated.

 

i like the original image with its depth of field.

Despite the problem in focus - shake or whatever, the expression is so alive on the original, the mood so eloquent that I would not change it for technical reasons. Cheers.
