In spite of a busy BG it stands out good. Nice sharp and good feather details.

while Ifti has got a point where the background is concerned I really like how his neck and head are set off against the dark. If anything those scrawny legs fit in nicely with those tiny branches ;-)

Thank you all for the kind comments! What I hope to portray is what this scene looks like when you are there. This is very close, the bird is watching the water closely for fish, it stepped into the shadows and just for an instant a shaft of sunlight lit up it's head. These birds are very interesting to watch.
