A young Goshawk deceased from unknown causes, depicting the harsh

reality of nature. I'm interested in the viewers emotive reaction here, as

well as an aesthetic evaluation.

Yes, David, It generated strong emotional reaction in me. Its posture shows it is dead, but its eyes are half open and rather peaceful. And the claws - My God, they are placed in such an unnatural position, yet they are so sharp. My first reaction was to escape from this image. Yet its contradictory messages are both confusing and powerful enough to make me write a comment on it.

Thank you Jayanti for your insightful comments. The scene as I found it prompted similar thoughts with me. An immaculate death, (the bird appeared untouched) - and beautiful still - but a bit sad and disturbing.
