Simple concept, terrific execution.

 

I like the original, horizontal presentation better. There are two cracks in the log that, to my eye, provide legs, balance and ground the work.

Wonderful image, Cherlyn. I love old things which show age beautifully, and I love how this tree log does that. Wonderful tones and shadows.

The patterns almost look like cave paintings. This fans the flames of prehistoric fires.

This is beauty taken from nature... Lovely textures and I really like the play of light and shadows... Great work...

Very nice composition of this tree trunk. I like the round feeling of the tree rings,the light and shadows, color palette and the center of it. Very well observed.
