Nicely framed, but not sure that the face being shaded and dark sunglasses work for this portrait.

I love unposed, candid shots when they turn out well like this one. I think this is an exceptional street portrait. The detail is wonderful, I especially like the hat, so crisp and clear. Very well done.

 

I'm just curious, do you ask permission and get a model release from your subject before posting the photo?

Linda- This was actually a gal at the local art fest that was pushing a petition. For the fun of it I am including the orignal for reference. I was probably approx 75 ft. from her. I took the shot and then talked to her for a while. You bring up a good point, and no I did not get a release. I explained I had taken her picture and she seemed fine with that. Probably a bit simple minded on my part, she's probably a law student. I appreciate the input. Hope everyone has a great weekend.-Jim

Very nice shot Jim...and she is really quite attractive....'love her hat'.....I find it a very pleasant and carefree shot....she seemed quite relaxed that you were taking her photo...if it was me...I'd turn away......(hate getting my Pic taken.....) congrats....I really like this shot!

I have also posted images without a release, I know others do as well. This is something I have been wondering about lately. I usually ask if they mind if I post their image, no one has ever said no. Maybe this is a question for the forum.

Nicely done. I too have pondered the legality involved and, after reading what I found on the googleator, deduced that if it's in a public place and you aren't doing it for profit you should be ok. She should be flattered by your work. Send her a bill. If she balks, change to "Portrait of a Young Street Woman"....

I like DOF, the light is very fine, a hint of her eyes..good portrait.
