Thanks for the nice comment, Gail. I really recommend a trip to Argentina. In addition to Glaciers, you would be in bird paradise with your camera.

This is a very striking image, Larry.  The colour of the ice is amazing, and I like the placement of the boat in the foreground.  It really provides  a sense of scale.  I also like that you have cut out lots of the sky as this would have been a distraction for me.  A very nice image!  Thanks for sharing it, my friend.

Thanks for your compliments, Paul.  Your comments are appreciated.  This is Perito Moreno glacier in Argentine Patagonia.  It is part of Parque National Perito Moreno in far southern Argentina.  The closest city is El Calafate.  Yes, this is the natural color of the glaciers.  We saw others in Tierra Del Fuego.  I highly recommend both Argentina and Chile as wonderful places to visit.  Thanks again.

Scrolling through the thumbnails in your gallery Larry, this one immediately stood out. Love the sense of scale in this and the blue saturation looks fantastic. The ice wall sure dwarfs the boat.

Cheers, Gary.

Gary,    Thanks for perusing my portfolio.   This ice is a view of Glaciar Perito Moreno in Patagonia Argentina.  The ice is really this blue.  This 3 week trip to Argentina and also Chilean Patagonia was our most exciting adventure.  Again, I appreciate your comment.  Best to you.  Larry

Great image for all the reasons mentioned above, but the nearly pure black sky is kind of strange to me. I think masking off the rest and darkening the sky down  to achieve the contrast might have given a more natural looking image.

Sigfried,  Actually I did nothing to achieve the black sky.  It just happened.  It may be a result of the brightness of the ice; I don't know, but unusual as it is, it has an appeal.  Thanks for your visit.  Larry
