Another beautiful B/W. I am eager to know whether you use a zoom lens to capture the image from a distance to avoid divulging your presence to the subject(people) or a normal lens. How can you capture the normal, camera-unconscious look of some of the people in this photo?

After joining PN, I regularly view other photos including posting in B/W. Believe me and I don't want to flatter you, your B/W images have a very nice tone with perfect balance of contrast/brightness and exposure(neithe over nor under).Do you usually take the image striaght away in B/W or take in color and then desaturate and post-process?

I am eager to know the views of 'an expert of B/W ' like you.

Thanks that you have changed your own photograph.

Regards,

Susmit.

Susmit; I always list equipment in the "details" section unless I do not remember the lens. I have NEVER owned a ZOOM lens. This photo was taken (see detail section) with a Nikkor 50mm/F1.8. I was very close. Three people are very aware of me. I did not ask to take the foto I post cropped out a man on the left who did not belong. I shoot in color mode most of the time but does not seem to make a difference. I don't know much about photoshop and have the basic 10 year old free "Elements" version. I do not know about "desaturate". I shoot raw convert to jpg or tiff and then "remove color"; adjust the histogram in "Enhance". That is all that I know how to do in photoshop. This photo was in open shade, too open, and a brighter scene than I shoot and I was not going to take it but I did. I am not an "expert" I am not even a "good" photographer and admit so in my biography. I have my own ideas of what is a good photograher. I take a good photo but seldom a great foto, I think I answered your questions and more.--- I usually don't write much but I am flattered that you asked me questions. ----Thank very much for visit and comment. I appreciate.
