dougityb 0 Posted June 22, 2009 what sort of stories, or situations can you imagine for this photo? Who is she? What's happened to her? Why does she look the way she looks? Link to comment
kris-bochenek 4 Posted June 23, 2009 very nice expression and I like the shadow effect on the wall Link to comment
kombizz 15 Posted June 23, 2009 I like her pose with your nice lighting. Hope after she get paid, she could manage to buy a pair of stocking. I would love to see more images of her portrait. Link to comment
dougityb 0 Posted June 23, 2009 Thanks Kris. The shadow takes on a different sort of attitude, doesn't it? Kombizz, I hope she gets new stockings, too. I don't know why any girl would want to look tattered like this, but I've seen this style around, so I guess it's here to stay....for a while, anyway. I'm not sure what you mean by seeing more images of her portrait. Do you mean seeing more pictures of her face, or just more pictures of her. In either case, I think I can make you happy with that. jeff.grant 0 Posted June 24, 2009 Doug, I've held back to see what else arrived on this one. Perhaps it's my age again but I don't understand the point of this. She looks seriously pissed off, surly, and her posture could do with improvement. She has the 'if looks could kill' look. If that's what you wanted, great but without purpose, I'm at a loss. dougityb 0 Posted June 24, 2009 That's ok, Jeff, I appreciate very much the loss you're in and thank you for letting me know because it's still helpful to hear where an image flops for any particular person (read this week's POW). Link to comment
jeff.grant 0 Posted June 24, 2009 Doug, there aren't too many folks that I would be comfortable posting a comment like that on. I agree that we need to hear the good and the bad, and often only get good. Link to comment
mg 0 Posted June 24, 2009 I like her feet best... Ok, I like the angry look idea too, but I wish it was even more angry... Not sure whether hanging arms are the best for an angry attitude... Finally, I think the black top shouldn't ghave been black... And... I almost agree with Jeff - although not completely... To me this picture is worth taking and has a point, but that's provided you give it its full potential of energy... As it is, it's a bit "half-way"... Cheers. Link to comment
dougityb 0 Posted June 25, 2009 more or less agreed, Marc. I was very uncomfortable shooting these because of technical concerns with equipment and lighting, so I still have a little ways to go. Link to comment
aarkp 2 Posted June 25, 2009 if she looks angry perhaps its because you've pushed her into a corner... but actually i don't think she looks angry... just looking you in the eye i rather like the photograph... everything about it serves to accentuate her lithe figure... including the saucy shadow... i like the composition and the tilt for the pov it produces... and yes, i think the holed stockings make a fashion statement... in closing i must say you have a penchant for subjugating the light Link to comment
dougityb 0 Posted June 25, 2009 "you have a penchant for subjugating the light" I can't think of a nicer compliment to offer a photographer. Thanks Rajat. Link to comment
