Magnificent work...You should never leave PhotoNet because of a very small number of people who give your work low ratings. It happens to us all Chris why get so concerned about it? I should think 99% of the people who view your work think it is of the highest quality while the other 1 percent should just be ignored. i totally agree with you that the rating system here does not work,

there are always those who rate low, and the mechanism to rate low and stay anonymous is stupid. i think no anonymous rating should be allowed.

i also don't understand why can't i rate someone 7 if he had given me a 7 before, what than i suppose to do ? give him a 6 on an image i believe to be 7 ?

anyway, i love your images, very aesthetics, and at the highest quality.

And I know how much work and effort you put into your art, no body or maybe just a few does beautiful bird photos and macros like you do!

 

I also expose on DeviantArt, do you know that site? And if you are a member you can have your prints done in a very professionnal work and the colour profile is very well balanced. You have a discount when you buy your own work for printing and you can sell your photos. Please let me know if you open an account there.

Christopher - for what its worth, I agree with Keith Lancaster above. I ran the numbers: out of 4050 total ratings, you had 22 that were 3's - that's only 0.54%. In contrast, 87.6% of the ratings were 6's or 7's !!!!

If you can forgive my forwardness (you said you always want the truth) -- you seem overly upset about that 0.5%. As others have said - the vast majority love your work and you have gotten great ratings and great comments. Why worry about the irrational 3/3ers? None of us can fix all the craziness in the world, eh?

Do what you gotta do - but I'd love to see you stick around. I've greatly admired your work, and have several of your images in my favorites. Cheers! Jerry

Christopher, your bird photography must rank up there with the world's best, so please keep sharing! I live in South Africa and regularly go on bird photography courses with the best in SA - Albert Froneman and Chris van Rooyen - however, your work is truly in a league of it's own.
