Alex 0 Posted June 22, 2009 Beautiful portrait. The lighting is great and her expresion is fantastic. I like the format you've chosen, and you've cropped just enough. Wonderful job Alex Link to comment

timmahj_junker 0 Posted June 22, 2009 Boring...no pop to this. the background is way to dark as well. Link to comment
Emmanuel Enyinwa 0 Posted June 22, 2009 You got a point there. It does have the 'bore' factor, but it is a picture of a family member, so I was not going for the Picaso effect. I am sorry for boring you, but she likes this picture better than others I consider more artistc. I will post those later. Thanks for your honest feedback. P.S. I think the background is fine. It sets off the somewhat subtle colors well. A lighter background would have led to a bot of a bleed, or the b/g competing with the subject. All in all, not one of my most compelling images, but for what it is, I am pleased. Link to comment

jeffl7 0 Posted June 24, 2009 I don't find this to be a bore at all. Her face is radiant, made extra special by the Saturn effect of her hat and roses. I like this a lot. Link to comment

skyjammer 0 Posted June 26, 2009 I like this portrait/profile composition. I'm a fan of non-centered or offset subject placement myself, so love that here as well. There is a sense of 'coming out of the darkness into the light' with this composition, probably because of the black background and the feathered lighting. The black background emphasizes the colours nicely. A top-notch semi-dramatic lighting portrait IMHO. Well seen. Cheers, -Ade Link to comment
