Hi Michel, thanks for your kind words.

 

This is the Arenal Volcano of Costa Rica. The shot was taken in the blue hours after sunset. I was really lucky that day (ah, isn't that the case for many good pictures). I spent days and days in that region, but the volcano was always covered in clouds, then, as I was leaving and looking back one last time - the clouds cleared.

 

I used my 300mm/2.8 with a 2x Converter on my Nikon F4 and a heavy tripod to get the image.

This is a very beautiful photograph of a spectacular phenomenon. The lighting is superb.
