Great shot Bob.Fathers, when aged, want to sleep like this gentleman, being tired of carrying out duties all through their lives! Good gift for us, Bob, on Father's Day.

Marvelous photo! Well done. But why do I get the feeling this is a photo of a homeless guy sleeping on a public bench because he has nowhere else to go. He's unshaven and it looks like there are holes in the fingers of his gloves. Also, the man in the background is walking around with just a shirt on and no jacket which leads me to believe its a warm day. Many homeless people, who may not be well, can be seen on warm days dressed in coats and gloves. If so, this makes the plight of this homeless guy (if he is one) even more sad on Father's Day.

Bob:

This is very effective for several reasons. First, I really like color/B&W combinations that are not overstated, like this one. Secondly, it really captures both the escapist look of slumber on the subject's face and his disheveled appearance. Finally, it reminds us that we all are sons or daughters and, despite some really rotten things some fathers do to their kids, they still deserve to be remembered. This gentleman may, in fact, be a father himself, and his slumber may be his way of dealing with an unsuccessful relationship with his child(ren).

My compliments,

michael

A very moving capture of a man probably living rough or homeless. Many feelings come to my mind. Do he have children, did he have a family once? Why is he in this situation? A fine documentury on a real life situation. As a photograph it`s a wonderful, but moving image. Thank you for sharing Bob. Take good care and all the best from Jannica
