Engel and Samantha

gsphotoguy

Engel and Samantha did a bondage performance that is also part ritual and dance. I found the trust expressed by Samantha and the responsibility borne by Engel facinating. I know many will look on these as purely erotic but I found the interplay of the two models and the patterns of the ropes on skin even more interesting.

I find this more of a documentary shot of their art than an artistic photograph of your own. (I hope that doesn't sound mean. It is not meant to.)

I like their concentration on what they are doing although I don't fully appreciate what is going on. I would say I find this image interesting / fascinating more than anything else. I would love the chance to shoot these girls separately or together. They do seem at ease with themselves.

Thank you for the comments. David, I did actually work with both of them privately later. There is a series of these in a folder called Bondage Nudes. You are correct that, in some ways, you needed to be there. I was quite facinated by the ritual of it all.

this reminds me of a vintage Betty page photo....she had bondage photos.....ya know....she was classic.....this is more of todays view....but in 50 years....will be similar to page as we see her now......i like your diversity in photos....not afraid to "walk the edge"....push the boundries a bit....its how one grows....not being stagnant in the same ol routine....dicing it up a bit if you will....nice surprise from the the average pose...

Heather - Thank you again:-) I agree that if you don't push boundries you don't grow as an artist. I have tried to do that somewhat with each shoot I do. As I said in my critique request, I was facinated by the ritual and performance aspect of this. I felt honored to have been able to observe and record them.
