dougscroggins 0 Posted September 2, 2009 I know by technicality this is not a portrait, as it does not show her face, but no other titles fit. As for the shot, it is one of my personal favorites and I was wondering what could make it just that much better before I hang it on my wall. I don't have a foot fetish by the way, just love the textures of the jeans and the wall. Link to comment
michaelhills 0 Posted September 2, 2009 Douglas, I believe parts of the human body other than the face can be just as powerful 'portraits' of the subject. For example, I love hands and regularly take hand portraits for my clients as an 'extra' to the more traditional 'face portraits'. The feedback is always positive. One couple said thay could see all the years and journeys they had been through just by looking at the scars and texture of their hand portraits. I think feet are the same. I really like this composition. Not too keen on the severe tilt - but that is purely personal preference. I can offer not contructive critique except for perhaps (and this is a big perhaps) cropping in a touch and toning down the 'brightness' of the feet a touch so that the texture of the feet can be more clearly seen.
