jtipton 0 Posted June 20, 2009 Thanks all for the ind comments-Pamela and Keith- Just a lucky opportunity on my way home from a business trip. The storms on the Palouse this time of year can be amazing. I was just lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time. Best wishes-Jim Link to comment
dougityb 0 Posted June 20, 2009 whew! beautiful shot! We some of these around my area, but there's so much clutter with trees and hills that it's nearly impossible to get a good composition. This is wonderful! Link to comment

GailAnthonyHarmer 5 Posted June 20, 2009 Beautiful Jim...very fortunate opportunity..wonderful capture...I can't get over the lush "farmers fields????" Would you mind filling me in on what the Palouse is????and is the lay of the land like this for very long??? At least it isn't totally flat like our Prairies......Once again...Great shot! jtipton 0 Posted June 20, 2009 Gail- To answer your question the Palouse is the farm and natural grass lands that are just south of Spokane WA and running to the Snake River Gorge at Lewiston Idaho. It is one of the richest agriculture areas in the states and has been compared to Tuscany in Italy. Thanks for the kind comment and I hope you get a chance to visit this unique region someday. Best wishes-Jim Link to comment
GailAnthonyHarmer 5 Posted June 22, 2009 Thankyou for letting me know you left the comment here....I kind of feel a little 'stupid' I should have learned this in High School....we were required to learn a lot about the US....not only Geographically....but agriculture etc.....I suppose I could have searched it out to save youthe trouble - so I do appreciate you posting that little map...This is the first time I've heard about what a unique and important role the Palouse fulfills. Thankyou so much....I certainly learn so many things new every day.....& with your map, I've learned so much more...Tuscany is on my list of 'dream spots to visit.....fascinating (the comparison)....and I do hope I can visit there sometime...your photos portray its beauty so wonderfully. Many, Many thanks...Gail Link to comment
