This is a portrait of a friend of mine, Steve Sandor, a character actor

from TV and the movies. I normally do just landscapes but wanted to

broaden my horizons and add some other venues to my folios. Thanks

for looking and comments welcomed...RAY

I really like this portrait image. I do not know Steve, but you sure seem to have captured his spirit in this image. I like that his hands are so visible as it conveys a feeling of strength. I really like the pose a great deal.

Thanks for the great comments on this portrait. Because Steve is an actor he knew the best way to pose and the look he was going for. Thanks again...RAY

Hey Ray. It's a good idea to broaden your horizons. I have done a mixture of things recently and I think it trickles into everything else you will do with your camera. Very compelling subject here. The pose is very natural and the eyes are penetrating. Not much to offer photographically speaking, but I chiseled him out a little with photoshop. I think he has a rugged look, so I tried to enhance those qualities. Perhaps you may have used a larger aperture to throw the background out of focus, but you can do the same thing with PS. This was a quick once over so it may appear sloppy in places.

I agree with the comments above. This is a great shot and a very compelling subject. I think by blurring or darkening the background you get a bit more emphasis on the strong points to this portrait. But you know how woefully ignorant I am about editing? I didn't even know you could completely change a background with PS like Mark and Anil did. I have such a primitive program, which I'm sure doesn't do that. So.....as I always jokingly tell my kids when I want something....'Mother's Day is coming up'. :-) Hope you're having a wonderful trip, Ray. I'm a little behind on following it, I'm afraid.
