is what I like most in your picture. The touching border is sensitive and propagates, you can feel it itching on the tip of the fingers on the far right.

the three dancers seem to represent one person in different stages of awareness. a lovely dream of an image. beautiful Pnina!

Interesting work, Pnina. Looks, again, like borders of life and death or dying. The black veil, but also the light. The almost ner tamid in the back, reminding me even of the ner tamid in the sanctuary of Yad Vashem, and the one crouching is in light, while the others are not only shrouded in black -- like black tachree'sheem, but they are in shadow -- part of the separation. She is testing borderers, boundaries almost of herself, as the costumes and makeup are so similar -- effect of near nudity -- lessening distinction and division between one and the other

Another excellent capture, Pnina. A delight of scene, poses, attitudes and tones. Very good shot! Best regards!

I didn't comment on this one before but there's something biblical and timeless about it like a scene from The Sistine Chapel (before they went and cleaned it) The golden tones are perfect, almost monochromatic and feed the imagination of the viewer.

Rueda,Bob, Tony, Senol , Michael and David, appreciate your feedback

Linda,I like your interpretation, interesting commentary

Donna, even though the choreographer calls her work" private collection", for me it is the difference of many kinds of borders in human life. Borders between people, between memory and oblivion, feelings and alienation etc.So your analogy to life and death, ner tamid( memory candle) fits. It is a very complex choreography that has touched me deeply. And I'm glad to share it with you and all the others.I think it will be a very unique dance choreography , and my photographed impressions will be part of the dance as well. Very exciting process all together..

ADDED later for JACK...As you well know, I love to read your commentary, because it is always so well, interestingly worded (not only on my work!.) As we probably wrote together I saw it only now. you really have imagination Jack, I understand the connotation to the Sistine Chapel, even though I did not think of it....;-)) . Special thanks.

I agree with Jack's interpretation of something Biblical being presented. The hands almost touching is elegant enough, but, the foreground figure is what captures my imagination the most. Lovely work, Pnina. All 3 images give me lots to think about: reading the language of dance.

Pnina, your images cross the borders of aesthetics and technical perfection and take us to an world of Beauty & Harmony. Shani appears to me like a painting by Great Masters.

I love the lighting here, Pnina. The standing figure seems to resemble a spirit emanating from her previously lifeless form on the floor.

Liz, this is a very nice addition to my feeling that I succeeded in bringing closer my visitors to the dance world that is so wonderful. I get more and more comments of the discovery and tasting that world of art. Thanks Liz !

Alberto, thanks for all your feedback , very nice of you.

Amal, I'm glad you find in it " beauty and harmony", Shany and all the others are performing a beautiful choreography. I enjoy seeing the evolution with my commentary and camera.

This catches a dramatic and touching moment (well, almost touching, like the fingers on the chapel ceiling). Everything, all extended limbs, are kept just within the frame. I like the lighting of the background bricks, which seems separate from the lighting which spotlights the figures. The figures are sharp against the darker floor, as if they are separate from the scene itself, only the vaguest of reflected lighting near the figures themselves. In that respect, there's an almost surreal quality to the photo, as if the figures and floor don't quite relate. The sharpness of the figures accentuates detail while de-emphasizing intimacy. The sweet softness is reserved for the backdrop. I don't know if the rectangular grid on stage is part of the design concept, but it's a distinctive feature of the photo.

The play of the light on the bodies is very beautifull, as well as the rythmic composition of the three women. This image adds a strong one to this series.

Thanks

Alex, you are right about the light, it is two sources of lights in a very large theater /hall, so I appreciate your observation.

Jeff, Thanks for finding the time, I know you are busy, I'm glad you find it delightful and "angelic"...;-))

Fred, as usual nice evaluation. Your "( well, almost touching, like the fingers on the chapel ceiling). " brought me a lot of thoughts that I have had already when Jack reminded me of the Sistine Chapel. And why? We have discussed conscious and unconscious while creating, but there is another layer which S.Freud called " preconscious" ( you are probably familiar with) which is close the the conscious and need some trigger to bring it up and be in our conscious. That what happened to me here, it is a long complicated dance, this show was a short preview before the premiere ( 17 July).I was ready with my camera, I have to work fast,so I photo the fractions that are "talking" to me especially. I did not think of the Chapel and Michel Angelo at the moment (even tough the analogy of the hand touch has a similarity...), but the nearly touching hand of the dancer was close to my feelings,in another context ,especially as touching another human borders ....carefully.( while his work is called "Creation of Adam") .As I like his work, visited the chapel and read a lot of his artistic work in general ,and this one in particular the hand touch( as a gesture) was in my preconscious and this was the reason I photographed this scene and not others that are part of the dance. I hope I succeeded in explaining my motives, and differences .

As I wrote it is a very large theater with a big stage with different sources of light . The light on the dancers are from the L side strong projectors ,and the light in the back is another source far and softer, so you are right that the FG scene , the form of the dancers was not intimate, and therefor for me signified the borders between human and the carful needed touch. The Grid if I understand what you mean is a part of the stage( not the dance).

Gail, Please read the preface, you will be able to understand the narrative and idea of the dance.

Jef, thanks for your thoughts about this series, about the light and forms of the dancers . I appreciate it.
