I like this. It certainly stands out in your small portfolio. It has a nice visual sense to it, and with minimal detail tells an open-ended story. The "focus" on the eyelashes is moving as is our ability to see the background enlarged through the lens of the glasses. The blur of her jacket in the foreground seems a nice setup to the blur as we read through her glasses, glasses which hopefully are actually making things sharper for her. I'd love to see more of this kind of work to put it into some context and see where you go with it.

I wish to thank you for your inspiring comments.

That photo, in all reality, was a mostly new direction for me. It is quite outside my favorite genre. The model (my wife) was sitting across from me during a picnic outing, children running around and all. Her natural position hovering over her book inspired: So I narrowed my depth, cropped, focused and took the shot. Does that, in fact, make it a snap-shot? I was particularly moved by the effect the hat and the coat had framing her intentions: narrowing the field of view quite precisely. The model is an avid reader so I gave myself a three digit moniker for future work, that is as far as I have planned.

Best regards

Thanks for the followup and for the comments on my portfolio. It'll be interesting to see if you pursue these people close-ups at all, but I'll check back periodically.

Hi DL.

I love your nature shots a lot, but this one really stands out for me. Very interesting angle and dof. Regars.

Ps. Thank you for a comment on my photo.

Quite interesting angle of view and composition. Well done! Also, it will be interesting to see it  in B&W or sepia style.
