''The Impossible Object''

This is a ray-traced image, straight from the computer.

It is composed of a very complex `glass' structure with manyinternally intersecting planes. It was ray-traced using only 4reflections/refractions per ray.

It took about eight hours to render on a 2.3 Ghz CPU!

I am not entirely happy with the way this turned out. I will make somechanges to the set-up and re-render it at higher resolution with 8 raylevels.

This type of object has great promise for producing some fantasticimages, but will need considerably more experimentation. I may post anew one every week or two. Stay tuned if these interest you...
