This really happened. I was looking at the decapitated palm when the

gull flew over. The photo has suffered by compression (lots of

artifacts); it's better viewed large.

Can't be Fresno. They'd have shot the bird and decapitated the other palm for good measure. Maybe Lancaster.

On another note, you are to be commended for taking such huge risks. The gull could have defecated at any minute.

The allegorical nature of the image will place it beyond the understanding of most viewers. I, however, do perceive the half-formed crotch created by the confluence of the trunks (suggesting the title, "Piernas Flacas). It is also quite easy to distinguish the small, but artistically important patch of pubic hair. But, where's the boobies? Perhaps the panoramic mode would have been more opportune in presenting the entire story. Barry, you are so subliminal. I'll bet you don't even cast a shadow.......

Ah, piernas flacas. You read my mind. Actually, I stand corrected about the gull. I'm sure now it was actually a species of boobie; probably the well-known Central Coast Gray-Scale Boobie, commonly known as the faux gull, or, more vulgarly, the tit-bird.

Well, I guess one boobie is better than none. Tis a shame it fell one boobie short of being a complete masterpiece.

The viewing angle, the selection of the subject and the limited number of objects makes this photo strange looking and different. Good photo.

Thanks for the visit and the comment! I thought it was rather strange looking myself as I stood on the sidewalk and saw the bird flying by.

This is one of the strangest photo's I've seen! Seriously, I like the composition; from the thumb nail I thought maybe the white line was a contrail from a military jet. Interesting capture! Thank you for sharing. :)

It was pretty strange actually being there, too. I'm sure there's some allegorical meaning to be had here, but it beats me what it is.
