davidorea 1 Posted June 13, 2009 This image is dedicated to my dear friend A.K. Sircar, all my friends in India and anybody who has known Sri Ramakrishna. Sri Ramakrishna was a Holy Man. I found a little biography of him in the net and here is a fragment : "Sri Ramakrishna, who was born in 1836 and passed away in 1886, represents the very core of the spiritual realizations of the seers and sages of India. His whole life was literally an uninterrupted contemplation of God." This book is a treasure that I found in the early 70s. I would like to share with all of you at least one of his sayings: "There is a fabled species of birds called "Homâ" which live so high up in the heavens, and so dearly love those regions, that they never condescend to come down to the earth. Even their eggs, which, when laid in the sky, begin to fall down to the earth attracted by gravity, are said to get hatched in the middle of their downward course and give birth to the young ones. The fledgelings at once find out that they are falling down, and immediately change their course and begin to fly up towards their home, drawn thither by instinct. Men such as Suka Deva, Nârada, Jesus, Samkarâkarya and others, are like those birds, who even in their boyhood give up all attachments to the things of this world and betake themselves to the highest regions of true Knowledge and Divine Light. These men are called Nitya Siddhas." You can download this book from this site: www.gnosis-mgi.org/download/en/Ramakrishna%20-%20Sayings.pdf Y para los amigos de habla hispana, pueden bajar los 3 tomos de sus evengelios desde este sitio : http://www.upasika.com/ramakrishna.htm Link to comment

life-in-perspective 0 Posted June 13, 2009 David I am surprised and elated. I never expected such a surprise awaiting me in your portfolio. This MAN means religion to me (otherwise a nonbeliever) that is what I have learnt through my childhood days. Thank you a lot for sharing this with everybody. Best regards. Link to comment
davidorea 1 Posted June 13, 2009 Alberto, Mari, Sonali, thanks for your kind comments. Sonali.- I'm glad reading your comment. You have not idea of how identified I feel from my youth with your country. I am sure that I lived there in one of my past lifes. When I read some sayings in this book, the sensation is something hard to explain. Specially when you discover some of your own thoghts but explained with simplicity and depth. To me this book is one of those special gifts that we receive in the precise moment of our search. The value of its contents is so high that can't be compared with nothing material. Things like gold, diamonds, emeralds use to be very atractive and beautiful, but that's all. I prefer the content of this book or any other wrote with the same intention and similar thoughts. Kind regards! Link to comment
Emmanuel Enyinwa 0 Posted June 14, 2009 It is an image that is noteworthy in that the artist himself is humble, taking a backstep and acknowledging the greatness of others. In many ways, that says plenty about you, David, as you spend so much time giving encouragement to others. In some ways, you, too, fly up to the heavens. Link to comment
davidorea 1 Posted June 14, 2009 Thank you very much Emmanuel for your comment. I have been very lucky here in PN finding hundreds of friends from all the world during years. There are amazing images made with the newest tools, attained after many days of work. I like those images very much. But when I see just a portrait of a kid with a beautiful expression or just in a funny attitude or situation, I enjoy very much those photos. Or an image with a plant or a new flower or an insect that I had never seen before. Or just a b/w street photo with a quite interesting scene captured in the best moment, or a scene with a whole family of gooses walking over a bridge. The atmospheres are quite important to me. So, almost everyday I come to PN to find new surprises. And all of you know how ejoyable is it. So we learn everyday new things and that's the best. Sharing images, comments, jokes, ideas, points of view etc etc. I think we are really fortunate. Regards Link to comment

jayanti 0 Posted June 15, 2009 You really surprised me ... it is an image that means much more than religion in an ordinary sense to many of us Indians. Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts. Best wishes. Link to comment
davidorea 1 Posted June 15, 2009 Dear Jayantidi, I agree totally with you when you say that this is an image that means much more than religion in an ordinary sense. Sri Sri Ramakrishna Kathamrita philosophy, to me, embraces the best of all religions. He respects all religions. So, when we read his sayings we find a very enjoyable way to find the Truth. NimArt 1 Posted June 15, 2009 Very nice picture, the way of lighting and the subject itself, the light put more power to the subject, and I know Sri Ramakrishna too and read some of his books, I wanted to know if you know Osho as well or not ? . best regards. Nima Link to comment
davidorea 1 Posted June 15, 2009 Thanks Bobby, Koushik, Lawrence and Nima for your comments. Bobby.- There are many sites with a lot of information about this holy man. You can download several complete books with his philosophy and quite ineresting biographies in practically any language. You can download the book that I present here from this site : www.gnosis-mgi.org/download/en/Ramakrishna%20-%20Sayings.pdf It's wrote in english language and is totally free. Regards Koushik.- I will wait for the spanish version of the Christopher Isherwood book. Thanks for the information. I'm reading a little book wrote by Swami Pareshananda "La Personificacion del Infinito Amor" a biography of Sri Ramakrishna and some of his sayings. Some minutes ago I was listening a little song sung by Swami Pareshananda that says : << Jesus is the name of the infinite Lord. He is God, all Love. He is the indwelling Christ, the Master, the Savior. In His immaculate life the essence of all religions is manifested. He is the human embodiment of God, Perfectness, Truth, and Love.>> I like the meaning of this beautiful song. Best regards! Nima.- It is pleasant to me that you have read some of his books. You have been very lucky. About Osho, I have received publicity about meditation. But that's all. Regards! Link to comment
