A channel mixer conversion to B&W. Taken at mid morning. Found this

somewhere in the Blue Ridge. We were just driving around the back

country roads and have no idea where it's located, had to buy a map

later that day to find our way back out to where we were staying.

Comments and or suggesstions welcomed. Thanks for looking.

Thanks for the comment. I thought this was an interesting subject it shows how people lived and made due with what they had. Probably started as 2 room cabin and then added the front later on as the need arose. The chimney appears to be hand made bricks so that puts it back a ways for age. Things like this are rapidly disappearing around the country, either being scavaged for the lumber or just decaying away. Thanks for looking and the comment.

Nice...I enjoy shooting these as well...

I think the foreground is a bit busy...I also find a lower perspective will ad some drama to the image...Your conversion is good but could use a bit more contrast.

Good find and overall well done...

Ken , thanks for the input. Checked out your portfollio/web site excellent work. Hoping to one day get over a little further west and see that country. I took several shots of this subject with the fence and without and to me the fence just seemd to add to the shot, it added dimension showing it as a place and not just a building so I picked this one to finish out. My monitor must be slipping out of calibration the contrast seemed ok to me. I thought I had gone to far with the contrast and lost the details. Thanks for the input, keep up the good work.

I see the light has been bit harsh. BW is perfect for this kind of photo, brings out more character. I would have cropped the sky, it does not add anything and distracts the attention.
