GailAnthonyHarmer 5 Posted June 12, 2009 I've a New Folder "UP CLOSE & PERSONAL" :--)) This folder will be for tight POV's with Flowers, Animals, etc. Don't expect a lot of DOF....(nothing in bad taste)....these are going to be the more detailed accents in 'things'. I've seen many Websites and Photo Mags where people are exploring these either delicate or perhaps very textured 'areas' more and more. I tried it on my own last year for my 'at home' photos...so now I'll try to get some good results and some 'alternate POV"s'.....this of course will not be for everyone...but what's the 'harm'?...sometimes we're attracted to a person's mouth, their hands, ...or their 'eyes'...on first impression....even flowers have much to offer in the variety of their most attractive parts. In the 'spirit of exploration'......Gail By the way, this flower is called "Jackie", it is the new 'breed' of this beutiful flower...but when I thought I could remember the name of the flower.............uh no.........so I will be taking a pen and pad with me on all other adventures........... jill_bingham 0 Posted June 15, 2009 Gail: Beautiful the DOF give this such amazing detail. You captured the colours so well here . Now I am really torn I want a macro lens but I also want a longer one then my 300. But I would not use either with my portrait work so I guess I will have to work a lot harder and make enough dough to buy them ... but which one first? Arguh...... Have a great week and keep shooting and processing I love looking at you work. Jill Link to comment
GailAnthonyHarmer 5 Posted June 16, 2009 Thanks Jill for your comments..always appreciated.....you can use your telephoto lens for 'macro' work....just change your settings..will mail it to you.....there is always anohter alternative.....you may be able to order your lenses online through Future Shop, and go on their payment plan.....just payments not interest...that's how we got our TV....almost 3 years ago....we only have about 5 more payments to go....I dont' know if it is different out there...but the stores don't carry the lenses out here...just a thought....the summer is so short....the more pics you get now, the more you will have to work on in the winter..............cheers good friend...take it east....your mind will soon tell you which direction to go....Gail Link to comment
