I am working very hard to further my understanding of light and how to

use it both in nature and in studio. I am looking for comments that

might help me learn more. I value all comments very much. Thanks for

looking.

I really like the light on here. Surprises me that you are still working on it! The only thing is that one piece of grass is on her lower lip- would have been nice not to have that. I love the light on her face. I took a look at some of your other photos and some of them have too strong of shadows on their noses- something most of us women dont care for :) although lovely portfolio. This one has perfect shadows!

Sean,

Pretty girl with lovely blue eyes! Sharp focus on eyes -- Good skin tone and catch lights -- Nice dark, out of focus background. Your composition is good.

I am going to add just a couple of things that I think might improve this portrait for me.

I not only do not the grass on her lip, but I don't like it on her forehead. The way her left arm is cropped makes her look like an amputee. Looking at the flower is cute, but I don't like the flat of her hand showing. If it was seen from its side (edge) it would look thinner, more feminine and more graceful. Even though her dress has nice warm colors it has so many lines and shapes that my eyes keep leaving her face to look at it. I have to admit, I am not a big fan of armpits -- even pretty young girl's armpits. Maybe its just me?

Of course, you know that I think any word on a photograph that is not part of the photograph is annoying.

Nice shot,

Mark
