pnital 36 Posted June 12, 2009 I think Pinokio is nearly every ones childhood funny, loved story. Thanks for your memories..... ( if you have any of this one while viewing ...) Link to comment
copcu 0 Posted June 12, 2009 Pinokio has been a prominent figure of my childhood too but don't think I have any specific memories other than I believed for a while that my nose would grow bigger if i lied :) and still make the connection with people who do come up with white lies and they get labeled as "your nose is growing".... very nice capture, congrats and best regards. amalsircar 2 Posted June 12, 2009 Pnina, I too loved to read "The Adventures of Pinocchio " in my childhood. Here so many Pinocchio s made me smile. I remembered those innocent happy days of mine. Link to comment
tmcleland 0 Posted June 12, 2009 Cute capture! That guy better not tell any more lies! Link to comment
peter.blum 0 Posted June 12, 2009 Ahalan Pnina, Very charming image - and the man in the background also has some Pinocchioesque qualities. At first I was thinking of Nehalat Binyamina but the background on the left doesn't quite fit... I am in Israel at present and will stay until the 28.06. Perhaps I will be able to take some more pictures here. All the best Peter Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted June 12, 2009 B.C , and Amal ,thanks for you memories, it made me smile.I loved reading books as a child ( also nowadays ) Pinokio (Pinocchio as it is written really) is a great memory of my childhood preferred books.;-)) and I love the wooden doll.... Tim, I smile reading your comments..... Peter, his "birthday" was in 1883 in Italy, so that amount of him can be found I think only there....;-)) If you are in Israel and you are interested, call me ( 050-5658812) Thanks for your visit and comment. pnital 36 Posted June 13, 2009 To all of you. Fabrizio, "he seem to reminder that a lil bit of Pinokio is in everyone ... " Great observation... ;-)) Link to comment
heider 0 Posted June 13, 2009 Yes very funny, but serious as well, without that man the photo would have been very ordinary, but with that simple introduction of a human face, it gain so much depth. lol Link to comment
Donna Stavis 0 Posted June 14, 2009 A child's wonderland, Pnina. I have such fond memories of hearing and then reading this story over and over. I like the large crowd of them in various positions, waiting to perform. The smiling man mirrors my own expression. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted June 14, 2009 Thanks you all, it is wonderful that we have some mutual memories of loved childhood stories. Pinokio is calssic.. I think that the man fits here..... Link to comment
gordonjb 10,860 Posted June 15, 2009 I always found the story of Pinocchio a bit creepy and unsettling. To this day I remain less than fond of marionettes. I do nonetheless like this photo. The dimensions of the Pinocchio next to the man's reflection tends to put them both into the same reality. I also like the strong diagonal of the puppets rising upward in the frame from left to right. Link to comment
someoneelse 1 Posted June 15, 2009 And I have a very big nose ;) does that tell you anything dear PN ina with love Els Link to comment
tibig 0 Posted June 16, 2009 Uh those noses! I exclaimed even before I read your title. That famous doll plays a new trick (or maybe just repeats an old one) in your neat picture. We also have one of them at home and I remember my son was quite upset when he got it as a present, the grandparents explained in vane that this is the real thing from the homeland of Pinocchio...Regards, Tibi Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted June 16, 2009 Gord, I see Pinocchio as a moral story that talks about honesty in an unusual way. I see it as a nice translation of the story to the doll... Elsi, I think you are beautiful ! Your soul is wide and I love you ;-)). Tibi, my 3 years old grandchild liked the doll, even though I know he is still too young for the story.....The juxtaposition of the man's nose and the dolls he is selling... I just could not resisit....;-)) Link to comment
jeffl7 0 Posted June 17, 2009 I like how the man's rather plastic smile mirrors the vacant eyes of all those Pinocchios. Your "out and about" pictures are great! Link to comment
adan1 0 Posted June 17, 2009 Charming shot. I think that there is a little Pinocchio in every person wanting to become something else. Link to comment
davidorea 1 Posted June 18, 2009 Perfect title for this funny scene, Pnina. Excellent composition, colors, details and contrast. Very good shot! Congrats! Link to comment
