aarkp 2 Posted June 16, 2009 something very pleasing about this unusual photograph... the composition is marvelous.. the ratio of sky:ground seems perfect... the branches of the two trees in front seem to merge from my perspective -- forming a vast silhouetted canopy on a lovely sky that glides smoothly from white-blue to blue... the nature-modeled horizon line is in three sections as if paralleling the three trees -- the third section continuing unseen behind the dark silhouette of the house... the third tree behind the house rising almost conically up from its roofline, thrusting into the sky, the three trees in pleasing declining proportion... the whimsical leakage of pass-through light through the house orifices break-up the blackness of the house and give it its character...the shadows falling on the soft green carpet suggest unseen trees/structures on the left and this hidden continuity is maintained on the right by the abrupt cutting-off of the house and the shadows of the two trees... a simple elegant photograph with depth and feeling Link to comment
