dabar 0 Posted June 9, 2009 Trying a new, for me, technique using a transparent plane with a photoapplied to the surface. This is my first attempt. I may try to refineit in the future. Please let me know what you think of this idea. Your comments willhelp guide me in the refinement process.Thank you... Link to comment
thadley 10 Posted June 10, 2009 I like the idea very much - as with any abstract I try and find shapes to which I can relate. I find that easy to do with the B&W portion. I like the touches of color but I find it harder to relate to the color aspect and the parts they are coloring in terms of shapes. Link to comment
GailAnthonyHarmer 5 Posted June 10, 2009 another one of your almost 'scientific creations'...I don't know how you do it Dave....but it's always so interesting....sincerely, Gail Link to comment
dabar 0 Posted June 10, 2009 As stated, this was just a trial of an idea. I have been thinking about much better ways of using this method. In this case the background is way too `busy' and detracts somewhat from the image. I will be doing another with a simple reflective background and more space between the background and the smoke image. The primary thrust of this experiment is to find a way to use a 2D smoke photo in a 3D setting with reflections and maybe shadows. The shadows may not work well since the smoke image is flat, and the shadows should be different from different angles but would not vary much due to being so thin and flat. However... I have an idea that just might work to overcome that limitation... the wheels are grinding... Link to comment
