...as someone that normally goes out of my way to ensure there are no people in my

pictures this was a step outside my comfort zone!

Beautiful hair, nice movement, excellent capture. I think, if this were mine, I would crop below the shoulders, where the last strands of hair reach. I just find that the the sleeves, and the white triangles they create distract and pull my eye away from the best part of this photo, the face, the expression and the hair. Just my opinion, otherwise I think this is wonderful. All the best.

Dominic,

Pretty girl - Hair action stopped well - Good skin tone - Good contrast (You have nice texture in her dark dress) - She is well separated from the plain background

The focus on her eyes could have been better. They are not real sharp. I would have had the light coming from the other side so that the front of her face was lit well. You have her looking out of the picture. It would be better if she was looking into the picture. If you place the tip of her nose in the vertical center of the photograph you will correct this problem.

You have posed her straight on to the camera. With most people this puts the widest part of their bodies (shoulder to shoulder) toward the camera. If you would have her turn at a slight angle to the camera, not only would show her figure better, but she would appear slimmer, more feminine and more graceful.

You could move in a little closer to her. You could also use less head room. I'm not sure what you did to her nose or her left cheek, but it looks a bit messed up. You may want to soften her skin to smooth out her complexion.

Nice shot,

Mark

Dominic,

This is a good picture but there are some points to improve. The main light comes from her right but she looks the other way. So you had to lighten up the picture to show face detail which caused her hair on her right to be overexposed.

The light you placed behind her to whiten the background was not placed properly and became a distraction element under her armpits, mostly on her left.

If you intend to show the hair in action, all of her hair must obey your command. Some lazy ones just stay on her shoulder to spoil your show.

There is a good potential. Just needs more efforts which is a constant course of life.
