tonycussen 0 Posted July 12, 2009 I see you have a host of 3/3 ratings for this shot yet none of those brave souls have come forward to offer advice as to why they consider this worthy of such ratings. Well here are my thoughts right or wrong I hope they help. The tilt on the horizon does not work for me here. I believe this would look much more pleasing if the horizon was horizontal. There are parts of the sky where the detail is lost due to the matrix or centre weighted metering. An ND grad filter might have helped here or expose for the sky and adjust in PS. The colors in the forground are bland as there is no contrast probably due to the lighting conditions at the time of day you shot this.The cure... shoot this scene at sunrise, compose with straight horizon and using the thirds principal. Post process as you see fit and you should come up with a good shot. I hope this helps Regards Tony Link to comment
