aarkp 2 Posted June 6, 2009 I love this poignant photograph for the geometry of its composition -- the inward movement of the steps, the pillars and their bases, and of the declining light. Thematically perfect. Just have one suggestion for you: keeping the same aspect ratio if you like, crop away the first pillar on the left. You'd lose just one riser in the steps and much of the white space, but sufficient white space would remain [ i've checked it out :) ]. Lovely work. Link to comment
alan_green3 0 Posted June 7, 2009 Interesting tones and textures, although I sense the man in the shadows is overwhelmed by the intense brightness in the lower left. Link to comment

jmarcraveau 0 Posted June 8, 2009 Very interesting composition. I would agree with first comments about cropping the first pillar. Very nice B&W processing. Regards, Jean-Marc Link to comment
s_williams 0 Posted August 19, 2009 Emma, Your image here has a wonderful presence about it with the rythmic, stoic columns forming the backdrop for this friendly, elderly man. Seems like he is enjoying the privacy of this ancient setting. The B&W treatment, with its deep blacks and moderate tones fading into the bright, blinding heavenly white, gives the image a rich sense of history and visual power. Very well done. tereay 0 Posted September 1, 2009 Wonderful composition, the old man particularly is a warm touch to an another wise cool and stern background. But left lower corner is still losing a bit of details. Still I like it a lot! Link to comment
