spenaloza 0 Posted June 5, 2009 I like the colors, contrast and detail on this shot, it looks from a fairly tale, well done, congrats //Salvador Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted June 5, 2009 The contrast between the vibrant foreground and the muted colors of the misty background really makes this picture. This shot is one in a million. Link to comment
camilo.margeli 1 Posted June 5, 2009 The magical atmosphere produced by the mist and these beautiful colours make for me this one an outstanding image. Thanks for sharing. Link to comment
ricklundh 0 Posted June 5, 2009 Marc, Fabulous image here! My only suggestion would be to allow a little more red in the trunks of the trees...they have a litle yellow tint to me and since they are the "Redwoods", well... ;) Link to comment
daverave 1 Posted June 5, 2009 Just beautiful and incredibly well rendered... I'm wondering if you did some perspective correction or if you were up on the side of a hill to keep the trees as vertical as they appear? Link to comment
dougbrill 0 Posted June 5, 2009 Very nice capture. Lovely soft colors. Your nature work is outstanding. Link to comment
Karl Schuler 48 Posted June 5, 2009 If a photo can be both owesome and contemplative than it is this one. You have the giant trees and the tender flowers and some butterflies. You have the contrast in the details and the soft mist in the background wood. I wunder how you reached your view point above the ground bushes. If it were my photo I would be tempted to darken a bit the right 1/4 stripe and make the ground of the forest Above the bushes a bit more darker. marcadamus 1 Posted June 6, 2009 Chris, thanks for the comment. No, I did not do anything out of the ordinary here. The atmosphere was naturally great for showing off the trees. Fog is very common here. I made a reasonable increase in red saturation in RAW, but no other significant color adjustment. Rick, thanks. You know Redwoods are actually yellow/brown on the outside. They are only red on the inside. Sequoias, however, are red both inside and out. Link to comment
ricklundh 0 Posted June 6, 2009 Marc, thanks for the clarification :) I feel a bit silly now... You've set a new standard in Rhodie/Redwood comps with this one... I bet this one will sell well for you... Link to comment

cmouli 0 Posted June 8, 2009 Mark, great shot and composition! What time of the day did you take this shot? Did you use any filter? Lighting is great and the bright, colorful flowers are pleasing with fog in the background. Link to comment

celasun 0 Posted June 18, 2009 Your beautiful photo reminds me of old Japanese paintings/prints."Delicate" is the word I would use to summarize how this one looks. It is just like the forests we see in fairy tales... Link to comment
vincent_stanford 0 Posted July 29, 2009 This is fine arts photography at its best. The mist works for you here by muting the details, and showcasing the pastels of foreground floral colors. Lovely composition. Simply lovely. Link to comment
