An intriguing image. Excuse my ignorance, but am I correct in assuming that the gentleman is reading an Arab language newspaper, and therefore is Muslim? Given your ethnic background, I would have expected a less neutral sort of viewpoint. I'm intrigued.

I read no ignorance in your comment. Yes for sure the gentleman is reading an Arab newspaper. He is a Palestinian but Muslim or Christian I do not know. About "viewpoint"; -his or mine on what? You'll have to explain that for me. Thanks for intriguing comment

All I was trying to say is that given Israel's tremendous interest in Obama and his interaction with both your country, and the Arab world, I might have felt more emotion from such and image. This guy could just as well be reading Dear Abby as anything earth shattering.

Thank you for clarification. The photo is kind of a triangle: Israel, palestinian and Obama with a lot of separation between. Thank you for commenting.

Thank you for commenting.... It just now occurs to me (because I am accustomed to it this way) that if it was a "western" newspaper the front page with picture and headlines would not be seen. How fortunate for me. And probably did not occur to you that it seems like the Obama speech is relegated to the last page. :-)

Great! again - and I like your statement 'kind of a triangle' - but I like to add: Daly life has gone some pages further.

We often take some thing very serious but the real world sometimes looks different - does he look for a new car?

Real life is what you are capturing (I think) in all your images and this is another hint to what you do.

BTW: Your BW conversion works very good. I did not check but think it was digital. The clean digital works here very good.

All the best Axel

I understand this trio triangle, and timing is real good and up to date as subject .Similar to all your very well B/W conversion, and part of life scenes.

that this excellent photo does indeed speak eloquently about "the situation", indeed from the point of view of "the other." He is not necessarily reading about Obama's speech, and that, if true, is a major point. Leaders come and go, and they can express or encourage or even prevent great hopes from being realized. The people remain.
