With the help and suggestions of all those who commented the previous butterfly, I

elaborated this version and will like to know if you like it and consider it better/worst

than the original one (a butterfly).

Should you know the name of this butterfly I will appreciate it very much.

Once more thank-you to "my friend and researcher" Rajat Poddar that gave me the english vulgar name of this butterfly (Old World Swallowtail) that allowed me to find the scientific name: Papilio Machaon, in italian "Macaone".

Thank-you Rajat, you are a wonderful researcher (even if I'm not sure which word match better in this case: either "researcher" or "seeker")

This version is better than the previous one, IMO.

You decreased the amonth of contrast and sharpening on the butterfly and the result is more pleasant. I've noticed that you enhanced the blur of the background and this is visible with some artifacts on the grass contours.

I'm still undecided about cropping... I feel the space left to the background to be too much important towards the main subject (the butterfly)... Maybe a closer crop could focus the attention of the viewer on the beautiful colors of the butterfly.

Regards, Alberto.

Mauro,

I agree with Alberto, this version is much much better.

Much more "control" (in all senses... ;-) ).

Soon you will be able to write the book "Zen and the art of photography"!

Bye.

Stefano.

I'm already writing several books in this serie: "Zen and the art of managing my own family", "Zen and the art of standing clients", "Zen and the art of keeping and maintaining friends/employees", "Zen and the art of reporting to shareholders"...

Thank-you, really very very much, for the spur to improve my technique and my attitude. Only few dare. ;-)

mi sembra il papilio machaon rimane saldamente come italiano e come sempre nettamente... assolutamente le sue prerogative...e la mia per votare come voglio

Dear Rajat, thank-you to come back another time and for your rating. I fear you are asking to much to Google, since your "italian" (even if i am very moved from your attempt) is frankly incomprehensible! :-))

i just translated the words back into English and I got:

I think the papilio machaon Italian remains as firmly as ever and much ... absolutely his prerogative ... and my vote as I want to

foiled a friend

It's incomprehensible in English too!

Let me try and reconstruct: I think the papilio machaon remains as solidly and sharply Italian as ever...absolutely your prerogative...and it is my right to rate as I wish to...

I think that this is a very beautiful shot of an amazing butterfly... Fantastic colors and details in the wings... Great work...

All my best, Jill

Very beautiful. Nice colors.

(Can the bottom be cropped a little? I guess the twig on which the butterfly sits will be out of place then? Not sure.)

yours (alive and kicking :D ),

and thank-you to stop by and for your kind words. I see from your homepage that we wander in the same area, maybe one day we will cross our cameras. This picture, as you can read in the details has been taken on the Monte Barro, southern side, the one that wathc over Ruagnà, Perech, ... :-)
