"Logs & Camas"

cmouli

I took this in Camas Prairie Marshland - near Fairfield, Idaho. Wildflowers were less than usual this year. However, this is a wonderful place to visit in Spring and waking up to bird songs in the morning is a delight! Comments most welcome.

Around end of May each year, Camas flowers bloom in a vast

marshland near Fairfield, Idaho. Flowers were not as dense this year as

in 2008. I was told by a Fish and Game researcher working in this field

that this is not unusual and many factors, including the weather,

determine the extent of bloom.

I took this composition of logs with few Camas plants around them. It

was quite early in the morning with gentle breeze blowing from the

East. I had to wait for a while to capture this shot when the winds

calmed down giving me an opportunity for a long exposure shot.

Comments welcome.

I like the simple range of elements you have focused on and the small width of colours in the frame. The lighter colours of the flowers stand out against the background grasses. A lovely subtle image.
