thadley 15 Posted June 5, 2009 A wonderful rendition of the tulip. The colors appear very natural, the raindrops are like diamonds on her finger and the green background is just perfect for this image. Parsimonious in character but not in the way this should be rated. I ended up giving you 6/6 when it should have been 7/7. PS - a book I have been reading and supported by another comment here at PN would recommend flipping the image horizontally because 'westerners' read from left to right and would prefer the tulip on the left side. Maybe it is best to have two versions (*-*) so no one feels left out. I know Mike M likes the square format and it looks great on this image. I see that you have not been spared the 3/3 anon - perhaps you should complain to admin as I have seen cases where the 3/3 has disappeared in a timely fashion. Link to comment
rarmstrong 0 Posted June 5, 2009 Thank you for the very kind comments, Tony! Maybe I'm dyslexic when it comes to these images. The right side for the flower just "feels" correct to me. I'm not worried about the 3/3 gremlin out there. It really doesn't mean much. It's those who take the time to make constructive comments and critiques that matter...like you. The ratings are useful to vault the image into the "top rated" photos for the day. They get more exposure that way. So, it's more likely that someone that I don't know will see it. You end up getting more input that way. Have an excellent weekend! Dick Link to comment
papasan 0 Posted June 5, 2009 Lovely image and interesting composition, the open space to the left balance the bright color of the flower. Nice DOF and details. The dew drops are a nice touch. Regards - michel Link to comment
jill_rocker 1 Posted June 7, 2009 I really think it is simplicity that makes this picture so beautiful ... I like also that you have left so much empty space on the left side ... The final touch that makes it very beautiful is the waterdrops that looks almost like little crystal... Great composition and work.... Best Regards, Jill Link to comment
