dabar 0 Posted May 28, 2009 This image, as will be all others here, is a combination of 3D models and digital images. It was rendered using ray-tracing. For me, this is an extension of photography and not a replacement. This method is closely analogous to studio photography in that it requires precise control of all visual elements. I see it as studio work... without the studio. If you truly wish to explore and understand photography {Light Painting}, you might find this method a useful and instructional tool, and a new creative outlet. Before you ask... I use Asymetrix WEB- 3D for the modeling and ray-tracing. It is an old, Win 95 vintage, program that is still available. It is easy to learn and use. It is also inexpensive.
