jpo3136b 0 Posted May 29, 2009 This is a good photo. To improve: I think there is a little too much water visible. The foliage framing the subject is tempting, because the green color looks good, but it's not driving the message of the subject home. I believe that the subject is the castle; I think you should crop to lay the castle in on an intersection of thirds; maybe for another version of this photo. I almost want to say that I think this photo would be stronger in a square format; cutting the left margin; but, keeping the main body of the castle itself. This could maintain some of that green. Another suggestion for a version I would recommend would be to maintain a rectangle, but cut the lower third of the photo. Good work. But, it will be stronger with some editing; in this photo all of the individual elements are presented very well; but, I think they would work better if the castle was emphasized by placement more; so, that it functions more as a subject. Right now, the photo is more of an overall view, with all of the strong elements competing for attention. Good work. Any version of this photo will do well. Yet, I think you should cut some. J. Sabin 2 Posted May 29, 2009 Nice farming with the branches, a little bit under exposed (in my opinion), however a good shot overall. Link to comment
