Denali

The largest peak in North America, Denali (Traditional Native American

Name for Mt. McKinley) rises a towering 20,230 ft above sea level. This

picture was taken at 70mm from approx. 70 miles away. I was lucky,

because of weather, the peak is very elusive. Your thoughts and rating

appreciated.

Awesome photo. My wife and I spent two days at Denali Lodge waiting for a glimpse

of Denali, but alas to no avail, only views were a long, long distance from the train and from airplane upon landing at Anchorage. How lucky you are to have gotten this nice vista. Congratulations.

It is so wonderful to see distant mountians so clearly. Here it takes a wondy day to get a good look at them. Beautiful work. I love the thick green forest along the bottom. Great work.

Certainly not to take anything away from your vision or photographic skills, but I guess you know how lucky you were to get this extraordinary shot!!?? Lucky for you! As impressive as this is as a photo, I'm sure it was absolutely breathtakingly beautiful in person.

I'm quite used to many mountain shots (my brother resides in Canmore outside of Banff-has been there for more that 25 years I guess). While in Canmore and Banff you are surrounded by mountains....not all people find they can live there as they feel a little claustrophobic. The first time I was there, I recall waking up on the living room floor(his wedding.....many house guests)....the sun was shining brilliantly through the window....and then I saw them.....mountains everywhere....the sight brought tears to my eyes.....such beauty. I couldn't imagine going home; while Ontario has it's own kind of beauty....nothing compared to what I experienced during my visit.

 

I find this shot truly beautiful and very majestic. You certainly had a beautiful day when you took this shot. Its very well balanced and I find that while majestic and awe inspiring, there is a serenity I feel when I look at this scene. I'm very impressed by this capture....well done! One day I would very much like to stand in the presence of this beautiful spot.
