In The Shadows

This is the waiting area for guests before the start of a guided tour of the

Bullfight arena. The light cast a very interesting shadow on the wall

which, I thought, would make a great photo. Tried as hard as I could,

but this is all I could achieve. Could someone please tell me how best

to edit such shots? Much appreciated. Thanks.

In this shot I like the low light that has created an ambiance of mystery. As you have asked for suggestions regarding editing - I think if you want to increase the light on the two figures you may use the shadow-highlight of PS. That is the easiest way as far as my knowledge of PS goes. I have tried to increase the light and uploading it. Hope it will help you. However this edit has deceased the mystery from the image. Of course what one wants to present is upto the choice of the photographer. Regards.

Honestly, it was the darkness and especially the shadows cast on the slightly rugged wall by the lampshade that I wanted to present. The two people sort of completed the photo. I tried my best to highlight them partially, though I do not think I achieved what I set out to do. I faced a similar situation when I presented "Scarecrow" in the monotones section. Too dark and you don't see anything; too light and you lose the effect. I think you have achieved optimum highlighting of the people, though I'd prefer to keep the shadows on the wall a bit more intense.
