Donna Stavis 0 Posted May 24, 2009 Nice configuration of directions, lines. I often have walked by scenes like this -- the garb, the expressions, the implicit bonding of these New Age American "pioneers" in Israel and imagine they are in the midst of having the time of their lives. If this were an American sitcom, they would all be looking at the girl, but instead their expressions are much more interesting, contemplative in different ways. I particularly enjoying the relaxed look of the guy in the middle. Only as an afterthought do I notice the mandatory and necessary gun on the back of the tour leader, firmly grounding this in a place that needs guns though the moment is so peaceful. Link to comment
myattphotoandfotoart39 1 Posted May 25, 2009 I took the picture and posted it because of the gun. It is common here and never seen in America, especially only a boy and so casually dressed and thongs. In America the other kids would be saying "oh, wow, let me see your gun", "can I hold it?" etc. Tough getto kids would take it away from him. In Israel the other kids don't pay attention to the gun and they are Israeli born. If he had a camera they would notice, "let me see your camera". Kids in America would like to have "guns". Israelis, kids/people could care less about guns. Thanks for commenting. P.S. Only a stupid person unless they are Taliban would give this a 3 for originality ie details. Link to comment
elportebonheur 0 Posted May 26, 2009 This is a 'complete package', Meir. Excellent photography and lots of room for interpretation. ( One of my favorites...) Regards, El Link to comment
