Jack McRitchie 150 Posted May 19, 2009 Nice to see you posting some new work, Steve. This is a great double portrait. The tones are superb and there's a timelessness to the picture. In a way this feels almost like something out of the 19th century (except for the color, of course). Link to comment
sjmurray 33,475 Posted May 19, 2009 Thanks Jack. I like their spontaneous pose here. Their expressions are interesting and I liked this one better than the smiling ones. I have been very busy lately and will be for several months until I am done with the graduate classes I need to take for my counseling license. So you probably won't see much new photography from me until next year. Link to comment
suspendedmoments 0 Posted July 1, 2009 even with her arms about her sister... in my opinion, these two could not appear more disconnected the girl camera left has a head tilt away from the sister, her arms hang unresponsive at her sides and the expression is benign. Sort of like when a relative hugs a child that simply stands there and endures it. This may not be the true relationship between these two, but for the unknowing onlooker, it's what I get out of this particular pose. thank you for sharing... Link to comment
sjmurray 33,475 Posted July 2, 2009 Thanks for your comment, Frederick. My style is always more "documentary" than anything else. I don't pose people but try to capture their natural poses. This was a spontaneous pose and if it says something about their relationship, than I was successful! Link to comment
