heider 0 Posted May 15, 2009 “People who are homeless are not social inadequates. They are people without homes.” This is not supposed to be a "Nice" photo, I wanted a bold, jagged, harsh message. Nice is not great, not provoking, and not interrogating enough for me. I wanted to see the world from the eyes of a homeless. Harsh comments and critiques are very welcomed. Link to comment
aarkp 2 Posted May 15, 2009 Well, not exactly true about the pillow: he's resting his head on his arms. Still, its a stunning shot and presented with your trademark excellence. The lady at right looking at him and smiling helps, whilst the nice legs with the knees jutting in the direction of the reclining man points the way and sort of anchors the frame. Link to comment

steve b 0 Posted May 16, 2009 This is a good one. Aesthetics are about as good as can be. The perspective is perfect. Puts you in his place somewhat. Link to comment

ldavidson 4 Posted May 16, 2009 Hayder, Queen and Bay hasn't changed much since I left Toronto over thirty years ago. I think you are producing some of the best street photography on PN. I really think is is sensational. I don't mean in a pretty way but in a high impact, provocative way. You should go to Vancouver and photograph the hordes of homeless in and around East Hastings and do a little Olympics promotion. You will find it confusing, it seems more like the slums of Calcutta than the streets of a Canadian city. Good work. Link to comment
blue-olympus 0 Posted May 16, 2009 Great direct shot of this apparently poor homeless/drunk man..? You p/p work is excellent in bringing home the punch/impact of the situation...Regards Link to comment

gallego 1 Posted May 16, 2009 In answer to your question. If I use a Canon EOS 5D. But I am unhappy with their technical service in Spain. (SETELSA). For which I do not do advertising to them. Link to comment

mauroni 0 Posted May 18, 2009 Hi Hayder, another of your masterpieces. Don't comment techinically since to me it's perfect (the light, the contrast, the POV!!! the DOF!!!, the crop). From a photographic POV what I find extraordinary in this photo and in some other you took (e.g. the turning point) is the fact that there isn't either any judgement of what you are shooting or any participation. You document. Stop. I think this is a gift and I love this way to take pictures, like great XX century masters did, first of all HCB. Mauro Link to comment
luis.miro 0 Posted May 19, 2009 Original point of view Hayder! If you wanted "to see the world from the eyes of a homeless" you've achieved. The perspective and composition are outstanding, the b/w work great. Hard shot! Best regards, Luis Link to comment
