First, thank you very much for your views and comments are always encouraging. I like both versions, but now at this moment I prefer this, I think the mood in each one prefers a certain image at a particular moment. Congratulations. All the best. Vicente.

Vicente, it's always wonderful for me to get suggestions on how to improve. Still, with this one, sharp and bold isn't what I'd prefer. So: the dilemma: post for ratings, or personal preference: I'd love to hear arguments for either.

the folds of pink are as well wrought as fine jewelry-- especially embedded in that soft and subdued emerald background. the heart shaped droplet commands the vortex of the petals very elegantly. sorry i didn't see the other image for comparison, but this one is lovely-- though i'd explore the possibilities of knocking the subject a bit more off-center. overall a regal celebration of the rose. cheers.

This is beautiful with its vibrant color and tack sharpness. The flower is projecting out from the BG. Personal preference are personal and they can't be argued. To me this looks live.

Just for fun do one quick and dirty adjustment. Open it in Picasa (free Program) Under 'tuning' tab move the shadow slider to right about a third and play with it till the water droplet gets its dimension. It will make BG darker and petals richer in color. See what you think. Thanks for sharing your work here. It is fun.

Liz...Liz...Liz, you keep compelling me to come back to your portfolio with all of these lovely photographs! For me, it's difficult for a picture of a rose to turn my head...as they have been done so many times. I see this as a very traditional composition..yet, you have somehow managed to make it look unique and fresh. At risk of sounding too much like a "suck up"...one suggestion: (if it were me...and it's not...I'd remove the light area top right...and perhaps the roughly rectangular area directly below it. best regards...john

Many thanks for all this great attention and help. I totally agree with everything you all have said. This helps me learn.

Ifti, I cannot manage with Picasa. Please send me what you mean.

Liz a sweet, romantic image. The rose flaots in the sea of green like in a dream. I love it.
