Guest Guest Posted August 27, 2009 Melissa, Great shot of a pretty girl. Cute expression. I wish her eyes were open more and that you had a catch light in them. The lines under her eyes are really noticeable. Her skin tone might be a little light, but your color saturation is very good. Where did you get that location? Not exactly a good choice (and I am trying to be very kind). I will have to admit that the lines in the background are nicely vertical and horizontal. The house and pink blossoms are nicely in focus. Too bad the background does not go with your subject. Your business name is not part of the photograph. It belongs on the mat. Nice shot (of the girl), Mark Link to comment
jerrymat 3 Posted August 27, 2009 Having been a teacher for a third of a century I know that cheer leaders will practice in the back yard. I think this is a fine subject and a fine background - I like how you caught her at the peak of the jump. I would suggest that you ignore Mark Chartrand and his less than professional critiques. Take a look at his site and you will find he has submitted no photographs what-so-ever for us to look at. His biography says he has four Master's degrees from as many institutions. He is obviously a professional student rather than someone who has learned anything. I strongly suggest he is one who cannot take a good photograph so he is hiding behind the mask of the critic. jorge_fernandez3 0 Posted June 29, 2011 I enjoy Jerry's ways of telling things! Mark is always trying to help out, but with this image, I think he projected a little something of your fantastic collection of images! I like when there is controversy and photographers express their opinion. We all learn. Warm regards. (I just found your collection and I am fascinated) Link to comment
