pduffy1 1 Posted May 15, 2009 This image jumped off the page of the critique forum ! The vertical lines are satiated by the lovely smile and curve of the eyes. Well Done ! Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted May 16, 2009 Melissa, Pretty girl - Sharp focus - Make-up applied well - Nice expression - She is separated from the background nicely The color, stripes and white circles (knobs?) in the background is very distracting (It draws the viewer's attention away from the girl) - I have no idea why you would want to shoot her in a horizontal format with all that wasted space in front of her? Her eyes have catch lights, but they are a line of reflections with a red cast to them. That is annoying. Her skin has a yellow tint to it. I like the pose, but if you would have her turn her head a bit more toward the camera she wouldn't have cut into her right eye with the bridge of her nose. Burning-in of the background is too noticeable - even around her head! The burning-in of the edges to help keep the viewer's eyes within the photograph must be very subtle. To be effective it should not be noticeable. Your name is not part of the photograph. It belongs on the mat. Nice shot, Mark Link to comment
