samrat 1 Posted May 14, 2009 Of all my photos, I probably took the least time in shooting this. There was the structure, I just pointed my camera, focussed and clicked. For some reason, I did not upload this earlier. Thanks for your critique. Link to comment
davidorea 1 Posted May 14, 2009 Beautiful composition, Samrat. Is hard to believe how fast you took this photograph. The tones, light and contrast are unique. Excellent shot! Regards! Link to comment
samrat 1 Posted May 14, 2009 Thanks, David. Of course, I should not take all the credit. I'd be lying if I said that the photo posted is as it was out of memory card. My limited Corel experience also helped. Regards. Link to comment
pucciarelli 0 Posted May 14, 2009 Samrat, I like the arches of this building. It would have a little nicer if you have the sky in place of the trees for the background. That is just my opinnion. I don't think you need to any cropping. Overall good job. Please feel free to comment/critique any of my Valley Forge/Gettysburg/Antietam photos. Michael Link to comment
kaushikphotography 0 Posted May 18, 2009 Lovely tonal and the light. Did you use burn effects to get this effect? By any means its really wonderful. Rgds. Link to comment
samrat 1 Posted May 18, 2009 Thanks,Michael, for your observation and suggestions. No, Kaushikda, no dodge and burn used here. In fact, due to my limited knowledge of software, all I use are highlight/midtone/shadow, high pass sharpen and brightness and contrast tools 99% of times in the recent past (say, last 4 months or so). I convert to b/w and sepia using the "greyscale" and "colorize" tools....I know these are not recommended for optimum effect, but going by your comment, they have worked well for me!!! rajnishduara 0 Posted May 19, 2009 So nice warmth to the otherwise pure architecture shot. Nice way to keep the corner in the middle of view. Could have cropped more to reduce the sides a bit, but that's my personal view. The arches are fantastic. Sam, what do you think of getting the trees blurred with a change in DOF? Does this work in a shot like this? Link to comment
